I'm back!

And I will be deleting all my useless posts, and posts that don't really mean anything - although I'm considering just wiping this page clear and starting entirely fresh, with my new post format and outlook online. Things will be running a bit differently, and I'll be posting not as much a day - a maximum of five posts, I think, because I do think I post an overwhelming amount. I'm considering redoing all my reviews and whatnot, but I'll give it a few days for all of you to LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK - THIS MEANS COMMENTS! :) I'll also be letting a bit more of my nerdy side show, with reviews of costumes in my favourite video games, as well as what I like and dislike about the game, because I want my blog to show who I am and I'm not all fashion, so this is it. This is the new LMNS

Friday 20 May 2011

I'm considering completely doing over my blog.

Like I did with my tumblr, however I'll be changing the name of my blog, including the URL, as well as the background, theme and whatnot - however I'm not entirely sure what to do, and while I do love LMNS I think I just need a bit of change.

How to rock: Leather pants

Credit to Annemiek
So, I've been meaning to post it for sometime, but my internet has been whoring itself out and I've been unable to post pictures, so here is quite the post. First of all I love leather pants, but shamefully, you need to have tiny legs, or you'll look like a whale caught in a leather factory. Brutal, but true. If you're thighs are too wide, then you're walking in the wrong territory. However, if you're lucky enough to have small thighs well then...

  • Make sure they're skinny leg. I think wide legged leather trousers are disgusting in all manners.
  • Keep it either black or red. Over the top colours are making too much of a statement, and may make you look like a Mardi Gras reject.
  • Unless you're a biker, don't wear a leather jacket. Mix it up with denim or cashmere
  • If it's black leather, think a red skin-tight top and a black jacket, with black boots, for the rebellious feel
  •  If you want to keep yourself familiar with the things you love, then think about tucking in a khaki shirt and docs for a military look.
  • Think Punk. Not goth, Punk.
  • It's all about having the attitude to wear them, so go for the dark, edgy side of style, and make a statement with a bold lipstick.
  • If you're anything like me, you love leather, and want to wear it as much as possible, but really, I think leather pants aren't that versatile, so things like rock chick and punk looks are always good.
  • Weird, but I think you should always have your hair up when it comes to leather pants. I can't quite explain why, but trust me on this. Having your hair down and shaggy is all good if you're wearing something that's revealing up top, but it's a key thing to keep your hair in a bun, or a top braid or something. I just think having hair down is too overwhelming. I'm not saying it doesn't look good... but it's just my thing.

Style Stalker 3

Me, aged 13 (I think)THE BEAUTIFUL GIRL AT PARTY TIGHTS (Ella) is simply too gorgeous to comprehend. She has a lovely face, as well as lovely hair, a lovely figure and an all to lovely wardrobe. Now, I use lovely over anything else, because I don't really see her as a grungy 'go-get-fucked' kind of gal. Not to say I think she's some highly innocent girly-girl, but from what I've seen of her, I think she's just perfectly described as lovely. Now, I've only recently spotted her blog, but I adore it in every way, and while I've been following her on Tumblr for a while, I haven't quite paid too much attention to her, until tonight. I kind of felt the need to be like 'OH HEY GUYS I LOVE THIS GIRL SEE' but I more or less love, from the little I've seen from her wardrobe, is the vintage-ness of her. She kind of reminds me of a not-so-tall, blonde Audrey, especially with the photo of her adorable orange skirt (pictured below) But she's also really tall (well I think so) and I felt the need to let you all know about a girl I am currently obsessed with, so make sure you keep the updates, too!

A skirt I bought today. (You can’t really tell but it’s bright orange)

Fly in the Galaxy

Christopher Kane showcased a brilliant selection of spaced out items, including leather and of course the galaxy print in his Resort 2011 collection, of which I still adore greatly. Now, I dislike these 'black milk' leggings that are quite blatantly horrible, but the CK 2011 Resort was brilliant in absolutely every way. Nothing was better than showcasing a bunch of brilliantly bright things, with a mixture of great colours and black leather. It's hard to resist temptation to fly back to the 70's in a space ship with the brilliant jumpsuits, from a 50's collar to a 70's sleeve selection. The contrast in colour and fabric was the most defined feature for Kane, as it usually is, but there was something so certainly select in this collection.
Kane takes a 50's collar and bust with a magnificently loose skirt in the same pattern, and really achieves the ideal look with a sleek bun (or pony tail?) but the only thing I'm not loving is the shoes. The dark nebulae jumpsuit with long sleeves and a deep plunge matching with a leather belt in black was superb. It was the perfect difference in fabric, because by going with something lighter it would have thrown out the entire outfit. Now, the sheer frill on the shoulders with a leather bustier was kind of confusing for me. I'm not sure of I like the shoulders or not, however the black leather with the nebulae pattern matched perfectly. Kane is a genius when it comes to the perfect contrast.

The black high-waisted shorts were simply outstanding, and are something I adore in the extreme. Normally with so much repetition in a collection, I kind of get sick of it, but Kane certainly kept me entertained for this entire show, because while it's all similar, there's something new sparked up in each outfit.I love the nebulae pattern as a tight shirt with the black high-waisted shorts. Then there is the stunning front-zip halter neck dress, with the perfect short collar and the brilliantly full skirt, because it's not so full that it's too revealing, but it's not flat enough to be clingy. There was something defined as perfect in this collection, and that was it. Yet again there was the jumpsuit, but this time with my favourite 50's collar and bust, but in a lighter terms in comparison to the other jumpsuit, and I really like this one more, because the cut is just so flattering on the arms. Also the wide leg goes much better with a bust like this.
The mid-sleeves with the over sized puffy end was something peculiar, but it was brilliant either way. I love the short skirt, because it's a very sixties style. I'm sure if dresses like that were around in the 60's we'd all be sick of seeing them by now, from how outstanding they are. I for one didn't enjoy the red fluffy heels though, because they remind me of something from Miss Bimbo. The deep blue high-collar dress was a particular favourite, but I just really adore dark clothes. The shoulders are at a nice width in comparison to the collar, which is always lovely. There is of course the nebulae shorts and top, which at first gives the appearance of a playsuit/romper, however I'm not too sure what I like about it, but there is something there that I really do like. It's also quite boyish. Now, if you've noticed that I haven't posted anything that goes below the knee (other than the jumpsuits) it's because I really thought they were disgusting. Everything else in the collection was outstanding, except for the hideous 'house-wife dresses' which kind of made me want to cry.

Anarchy on a ship

With the newest Pirate of the Caribbean coming out, and Doctor Who making a big statement on a Pirate ship, my already obscenely passionate adoration for pirates is seriously sparking up again. Now, my obsession for the pirate look began when I was very, very young, and I have dressed as a pirate on many an occasion, so I think I know my stuff. This isn’t how to dress up as a pirate costume, but for that pirate inspired look.
  • Boots. Whether they’re below the ankle, or just under the knee, black lace-up boots are where you want to go for the Pirate look. I have a pair of Vintage Vivienne Westwoods that have a silver point-toe, and skulls straps, that are big for my pirate scene, as well as a pair of standard black lace-up boots that come right under the knee.
  • If you go with knee high-boots, then go with black leggings underneath. The reason for this is because of the over sized coat I’m going to go into soon.
  • An over-sized, woolen coat in either gray, black or navy blue is the only way to go pirate, with over-sized sleeves and an obscene amount of buttons in mis-matched sizes and colours is always good.
  • For a shirt, think about stripes, but in either red and white, red and black, or blue and white, and keep it tight and long sleeved.
  • If you’re big on having a darker wardrobe, then a simple long-sleeved black shirt will do fine.
  • The reason I think it needs to be long sleeved is kind of hard to explain, but short is good too. JUST NO SINGLETS, PLEASE.
  • This is a very good look for Winter, because you can put on as many layers as you please.
  • A piece of random fabric or a thin scarf tied around the head, with a bow just below the ears is good for hair-styles, but you can go with the hat if you’re very brave, and do not fear in looking like you’re in a costume.
  • Black chipped nail-polish is also quite good, for the rugged ‘I’ve been at sea for too long. ‘CBF painting my nails.’
  • Smoulder in your eyes. Keep it thick and heavy, and do not fear in smudging anything!
  • If the jacket isn’t your thing, I still say keep with the leggings, because you want to look casual, like this is your thing, not like you’re going to a dress up party, so go with a large, white cotton, long sleeved shirt, with a very long neutral vest.
  • Look at Vivienne Westwood, or typical Pirate films for inspiration!

The Seven Year Itch

So, I'm currently snuggled up with my Mario slippers, leggings, my Superman hoody and a hot chocolate watching The Seven Year Itch with my dearest mother, and I am simply in love with everything Marilyn wears, but then again, I always love what Marilyn wears. The Seven Year Itch created the iconic image of Marilyn over a vent, and the classic white dress flying up. It's been ripped off by many films, shows, cartoons and ads, but nothing will ever beat Marilyn and Tom Ewell. While the iconic dress is simply outstanding, I need to share the love with some of the other things she wears, including the two piece pant and jacket set in baby pink, which kind of makes Marilyn look like a Barbie doll, but it is one of the rare occasions that I adore it, because she can actually make the outfit work. The three-quarter leg high-waisted pants with the over sized pink jacket and matching pink belt around the waist is kind of the ideal outfit for the 50's.

Taking a look at the iconic white plunge. halter neck dress, Marilyn looks outstanding as per usual, but this dress has really shaped a generation. Not mine, although it has greatly influenced a lot of my formal-wear. The dress has created spoofs and millions of covers and photoshoots for a lot of celebrities, but the dress creates the idealistic hour-glass, and is really flattering on a lot of figures, if it's made the right way. I can't imagine it in any colour other than white, and I can't really picture it on anyone but a blonde, with the perfectly shaped lips and the gorgeous flicks on the eyes and the perfect little white heels

Then of course there is the fantasy dress, with the fantasy hair and the fantasy scene, when possibly my favourite line of 'Oh, keep playing. Don't stop playing! Don't stop! ... Why did you stop' occurs, and it always makes me laugh. It's just typically hilarious. The dress is outstanding, however I'm not too fond of her hair, but the scene is so fantastic so it's okay. I also adore gloves, so the stunning gloves above the elbows are just perfection. I'm also quite sure I own a pair of very similar earrings.

Steampunk.

Now, along with my adoration of Pirates, comes my obsession for steampunk. I think I'm kind of making this blog about the things I love, which is still fashion, but it's not as general as it should be, so I thought I'd make a statement post about Steampunk and Fashion, which can only mean one thing. Alexander McQueen. We all know McQueen is about statement pieces and taking that one gigantic leap, hence having Lady Gaga is the no.1 Fan, but while everything McQueen has done has been brilliant, nothing is ever going to top the Fall 2010 collection for me. With it's steampunk-esque feel, and the amazing shoes, Fall 2010 was a big deal for all the geeks of the Fashion world.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2010
With the Kimono-esque jackets, and the stunning thigh-high boots, McQueen really bought to life a world outside of reality with the collection. This walk was outstanding, with the steampunk shoes and the pirate boots, and really, the general theme was too good to be true. Looking at the beautiful Ancient Japanese looking fabric and the typical Mcqueen headgear, I cannot formulate the words to express my adoration for this collection. (I've been using the word Adoration a lot lately, haven't I?) But this is taking things to a whole new level, by mixing the Kimono and the New Romantic-Victorian style.

The shoes were my favourite though, especially the drop-dead-gorgeous thigh-high boots, but the Steampunk  platforms were outstanding. I think if you can afford it, any Steampunk loving gal should have a pair, because they're not something to can make a cheap knock-off of. With the metal cogs and bolts, and the typically sexy leather, McQueen really blew me away with the Fall 2010 Collection.

The next thing on my list.

Karen Gillan as Amy Pond in my favourite show, Doctor Who.
Now, you should all know my obsession for Karen Gillan and Doctor Who, and episode 3 of Season Six is absolutely amazing, not just because the beautiful Lily Cole has a gigantic feature, but Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) is a PIRATE. A freaking pirate. I have such an obsession for Pirates it's ridiculous, and frankly, Amy as a Pirate was kind of amazing in every single way. This post isn't just about my love for Doctor Who, nor does it only have the title of an AMAZING book. (The next thing on my list - Jill Smolinksi, I recommend it) but it is basically to let you all know, that I am not hunting to make a pirate coat like Amy wears. From what I can see, it's a woolen jacket, which is going to be perfect for winter, and I think it's an amazing way to add a little bit of spark to my uniform, and general outfits. Now, every year I have a Pirate party, but each year my costume is completely different, and right now, I want Amy's jacket, with the brown strap across her shoulder, and who can forget the hat? I of course love the boots, and have a similar pair, but not with the bright pink tights.

Tuesday 10 May 2011

Oh, dear.

Okay, so tonight I'm going out with my dad, step mum, sister, brother and grand parents for dinner, which is going to be horrible, because I really don't feel comfortable talking to my grandparents, but either way, it has taken me sometime to figure out what to wear. Tonight, I'll be wearing black tights, with my thrift wedges, a black chiffon peasant shirt over the top of a pair of tailored shorts, and a Union Jack Flag vintage waist-coat. I'm channeling a bit of 70's Brit punk, with black and blue nails, purple lipstick, and the hair on the left side of my parting pinned back, with cats-eyes. For jewelery, I'm wearing my Buster Sword necklace, my Mario bracelet, an Armour ring and silver earrings.

Some Like It Hot

This is the reason I want smaller thighs. So I can wear shorts like this and not feel disgusting. Marilyn is my hero, I swear. She was so beautiful, and had the perfect body.

Is shoot me an option?

Ugh, my mum went into hospital last night (happy mothers day anyone?) so I'm not really in the mood for posting something extreme.
Lots of people appear to be curious about my personal style and influences, but it's a really hard topic to talk about. My 'personal style' changes daily. One day I'll be feeling The Sex Pistols and go punk, or want to go all out Beatles and dress as a Mod. It's a constant change, for example, yesterday I was wearing my Zelda shirt, black denim shorts black ripped tights, black wedges and a leather jacket that is covered in safety pins, an English flag, and NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS sprayed on the back. Today I'm wearing  a white lace high-waisted skirt, white tights, black brogues, a pink loose shirt and a black blazer. My style changes every day. I'm influenced by many, many things. Look at Music. If I'm listening to The Runaways I'm more lenient to dress as a 70's punk, if I'm listening to The Who I'll be leaning towards a mod, but it's not just music. One morning I'll wake up and want to be Audrey Hepburn, is it's something black, elegant, feminine and stylish. Another morning I'll wake up and want to be Mary-Kate Olsen, so it'll be something boho and original, but thinking that way is silly, because I'm not always influenced by outer sources. I'm always influenced by me. I add my own bits and pieces to my outfits, that come from nowhere. I'm influenced by my mum, and how she used to be a punk with a peacock blue Mohawk, and frankly, I feel sorry for some girls that can't change away from their usual 'thing.' Some girls (and guys) are good with that, and it's amazing, and looks awesome, but some girls who are just too afraid to make a difference in their clothes, are the girls that aren't going to make big changes in their lives. Everyone needs a bit of different in their wardrobe, to add that spark to their personal style. I know a lot of 'girly girls' who add a splash of dark purple lipstick to their outfits, or a punk (Only one) who wears a large pink bow in her hair. This is just my opinion, but I think everyone needs to have that one thing that defines their style. My style changes daily, and I believe that's my thing.

Perfection

Kiera Knightley looked absolutely stunning at her brothers wedding (date unknown) and frankly, I absolutely adore the dress she's wearing. I think the shoes could have had a bigger platform, and were just generally higher, but I adore chunky shoes. The colour of this dress is what really captured my attention whilst reading Grazia the other day, but looking at the beautiful, full skirt, the deep plunging neck and the bows on the shoulders were just stunning. If all my bridesmaids dresses were to look like this I'd happily always be the bridesmaid, never the bride.

GIRL CRUSH.

Fashion blogger Bebe Zeva
So, if you don't know her, you will now. Bebe Zeva is has this to-die-for wardrobe, with to-die-for looks and to-die-for hair. I would kill to be biffles with this babe from Las Vegas. She knows how to pull of chic, goth, pretty-in-pink, punk, elegant, girly, sexy, vintage, retro, and downright babin'. I adore absolutely everything she wears, I mean, she can even pull off creepers and still look stunning. I was going to attempt to post some of my favourite outfits, but there are simply too many to choose from. With a girl that has only just turned 18, and has the most outstanding vintage wardrobe (aside from me, of course)  she also has an outstanding amount of designers, especially my fave Ralph Lauren. I do have to say though, that my all time favourite outfit is that pictures, with the gorgeous tan poncho by Bb Dakota, and the ever lovely JC Vienna wedge/platform, this girl knows her stuff, and she accomplishes the stunning Parisian Chic style that is always everlastingly beautiful. She's also quite the artist with makeup too, and always has a stunning colour painted on her beautifully shaped lips. I... just... ugh. If you haven't checked out her blog, check it out now.

Friday 6 May 2011

The really awkward moment when Alexa Chung calls blogs ridiculous and every fashion blog turns against her.

Can I just state how much I hate Alexa Chung, who is apparently a contributing editor at Vogue, yet the girl only ever wears the same old crap. I'm pretty sure the reason she was introduced to the industry was via a fashion blog, and frankly, I know a lot of girls who would do so much more of a better job as Contributing editor at Vogue after being secluded for weeks and don't even know what a t-shirt is. I really hate Alexa Chung.

Thrift.

I went thrifting with my mum today, and bought these amazing Wedges. They're a size six, but I don't know what brand they are, however they're absolutely amazing. I also bought an amazing pair of high-waisted pink checkered pants, which is kind of blasphemy considering I hate pink, but they were too fantastic to go past. I'll upload a picture soon. The only problem with these stunning heels is one of the straps on the side is broken, but it's an easy fix!

One of the Boys.

003.jpg
Clemence Poesy is my favourite example on
how to pull off the boyish look.
So, I've been talking about it a lot, but I've never given a full insight on the boyish look I love so much. I think the reason I love it so much, is simply because it holds two of the things I love most, and brings them together in a style that only few people can show off. It's subjective to your posture, I guess. You cannot slouch when working the boyish look or you'll look frumpy and simply like a girl who wants to be a guy, not a girl who knows herself. I know a lot of people who are under the impression that girls who want to work the boyish look, are simply 'coming out' when it's complete crap. Think of Audrey Hepburn, or my beloved Clemence Poesy (pictured.) They both achieve(d) this look and still look(ed) absolutely fantastic, and feminine.

  • Don't wear bright colours. Think browns, blues, blacks, grays and olive green
  • With pants, it's either high-waisted, or it's skinny leg jeans.
  • For more of that feminine touch, go with high-waisted, wide legged pants.
  • Think about Trilby's. Wear Trilby's. Love Trilby's
  • An essential for this look is the classic blazer, whether it actually belonged to your father, it doesn't really matter, but don't buy one that is shaped. It's best if it sits straight down.
  • The boyish look is there to achieve masculinity, so showing off your beautiful curves with through the outfit off completely with a fitted blazer/jacket.
  • That's not to say that you can't have an hour glass underneath it.
  • If you're really more on the feminine side, think of trousers in a beige-peach kind of colour.
  • Simple shirts and t-shirts, in a white, or a blue. It can have a slogan, or a small image, but nothing too over the top.
  • If you do go with a Trilby, have your hair down.
  • DO NOT WEAR A BOWLER HAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE BOYISH LOOK. I'm sorry, but bowler hats are simply too feminine. I love them, do not get me wrong, but I wear bowler hats with  dresses, or when I'm not going to be boyish. I just think it's daft wearing a bowler hat when trying to work the boyish look!
  • For shoes, go with a pair of work boots, brogues, winkle-pickers or (to be feminine) a pair of mary-jane heels in a colour like brown or black.
Edit:
  • Keep it calm with simple black tailored shorts, but shorts NEED to be high-waisted if you're wearing them with this look. I can't explain why, but just no. The only things that should start at the hips when working the boyish look are your skinny leg jeans.
  • For bags, carry around a cross-body messenger bag or satchel. It's simple, but effective.

Misc

This is just a random photo of my Nana. I'm unsure of the year it was taken, but I think she's absolutely beautiful.

Wednesday 4 May 2011

A look to love. The swinging sixties.

So I've decided I'm going to write on my favourite era's, because I prefer fashion from everything other than the naughties (also, why naughties? It's just stupid)
Miu Miu Fall 2010
One of my favourite era's of all time is the 60's. The blunt fringes, perfectly straight hair and the stunning short clothes to match, but all of this was wrapped up into one big orgasmic ball with the music. The music of the 60's is my favourite. There has been an outstanding rise in the love for the 60's lately, with the whole 'indie' look, but frankly, it's just such a fantastic look that I don't care. When I think of the 60's I think of The Beatles, the go-go boots and the bob. The sixties bought in the Mod look (Modernism) which was basically the change from everything being below the knees to bringing them right up, it was that everything was modern, and 'spacey.' The best way to achieve the mod look is to have a blunt fringe, with either the perfectly straight bob, or dead straight, all-one-length hair, with a short sleeveless dress with bold geometric shapes in a bright colour. Look at inspiration from Twiggy, who had the infamous pixie cut and twiglettes. It's all about being bold and brave.

KEEP CALM AND STAY STYLISH

Okay, so I feel like going on a post about the things that I love right now. Whether they're something I always adore, or whether it's something I want right now. I want to let you all know the things I'm obsessing bout.
  • Wide legged trousers/pants
  • Aviator jackets
  • High-waisted shorts
  • Chiffon/see-through shirts
  • Denim vests
  • Thigh-high boots
  • Trilby's
  • Capes
  • Jump suits
  • Maxi skirts
  • 40's shorts-crop top outfits
  • 40's bikinis
  • Pixie cuts
  • Blue and white stripes
  • Olive green everything
Is there anything you guys want to see more of on here? I feel like I'm not posting enough variety.
Leave in the comments!

Style Stalker 2

Fashion Blogger and Freelance Stylist Andy T.

Fashion blogger and freelance stylist Andy T recently became MANGO's new it girl. I stumbled across her picture on lookbook (where I find a lot of my style stalkers until I can get my camera fixed) and I really loved what she wore. Wearing an American College varsity/bomber jacket, a simple black and white t-shirt, black leggings and a stunning pair of YSL blue pumps, I really love what Andy is wearing, because it's so simple, but bought to life with a pair of amazing heels! Now, the leopard print bag I'm not amazingly fond of, but I'm just not one for animal prints in general, and I also think it's a bit too mix-and-match with the blue heels, however we all have our own taste. I also find that looking at her quickly, she could be Katy Perry with those glasses on.
You can check out her :

Oh right, I have homework.

Because I'm unable to draw, I've taken great inspiration
from Fif Lapin and used a bunny instead of a person.
Okay, so this is the design for my Textiles assignment, which is basically altering a pattern in three ways, and looking at inspiration from 3.1 Phillip Lim, I'm creating a shirt out of a poly-crepe blend, with long sleeves, that are cuffed, cinched shoulders and an extreme collar (which isn't that obvious in the photo.) I'm also going to be creating a bow out of the same fabric, that I can simply tie around my shoulders and I will be feeling very french. The shirt is supposed to be made for an event, but the event I have in mind isn't until June, which is basically a Roof Top Garden Party where a lot of fashion bloggers go and we all gloat about how fantastic we look. I'll be wearing this shirt, high-waisted blue jeans, that are cuffed at the calves, black ruffled heels and my vintage Dior turban, along with a green satchel, and my nails will also be green!

Oui, Clemence

Having perfectly tousled hair, the perfectly heart-shaped lips, and the perfect wardrobe to match, it is quite clear that the French actress Clemence Poesy is all-in-all, perfect. I find that anyone who can set herself in History, in a Magic World, and in the bitchy side of the Upper East Side, Clemence has an outstanding acting career, and also has the most amazing I have ever seen. Not only does the pull off the beautiful boyish look, she also makes herself exquisite and elegant, along with the beautiful rock-chick we all long to be. The girl that has worked with Karl Lagerfeld on many occasions, starred in Harry Potter, made an amazing introduction on Gossip Girl and is constantly mentioned on Fashion Blogs as an amazing style icon, I am so proud to say I have adored her since her 2002 film Olgas Sommer. Clemence really knows how to make her wardrobe work and to flatter herself in every way possible. The wardrobe from Gossip Girl, and her delectable taste for premiers and fashion shows, is honestly to die for.

Oh, even though.

narcissusroad:Clémence Poésy on set of Gossip Girl (July 6, 2010).
Clemence Poesy - Season Four Gossip Girl
So while Spring is all well and over for me, I'm honestly fed up of all these girls claiming that 'Floral is so in for Spring' when frankly, it never left. Floral is simply a classic item from spring, because spring is the time when flowers come out to play. It's nothing new, and when girls claim it is, I get annoyed. When Clemence Poesy featured in Gossip Girl as the beautiful Eva, not only was it the first time I didn't want Chuck and Blair, but what she wore was simply outstanding. The beautiful light pink shirt and lace white skirt (pictured) are the definition of Spring. The clean colours, with the beautiful bag, and the simplistic ideal of a necklace was to die for. This is really for more of that classic gal inside all of us, who is still a sucker for the pretty-in-pink, and I think you should all know that I'm not fond of pink, but this outfit is perfection. It is THE spring outfit, and it is just amazing. Everything Clemence wore during Gossip Girl was amazing though. I'm not quite sure who designed what in my favourite outfit (pictured) but it is simply stunning.

Amanda Brohman - Fashion Blogger

Fashion blogger and frequent Lookbook user Amanda Brohman has graced us with her glorious outfits again and again, and I just can't get enough of it. While I personally find that a few of her outfits can make her look a bit frumpy (like this) the outfit pictured is simply to-die-for. I really love the Jumpsuit she's wearing here, the transparent black shirt over the top, and her Jeffrey Campbell Lita's are the definition of a Stylish gal, to me. Amanda B is certainly somewhere up there in my favourite looks, because I adore absolutely everything she wears. The photo pictured is so far my favourite look, but what makes this girl so amazing is her gorgeous light blonde hair and extremely pale skin, because let's face it, I always prefer pale skin over tans, but you should all know that by now. She kind of reminds of Juno Temple, who was my favourite actress for many, many years. Either way, this gal is someone you need to keep an eye on. (I REALLY LIKE SAYING GAL!)

Check out her:

A happy medium.

Free People

For all of you bottom-shy people out there, but still want to show a little bit of leg, then take a look at hi-low items. Now, I say items because there aren't just dresses that have the high front and the low back, but shirts also work this too, there's just more of a difference. The glory of these shirt and dresses is that they're great to wear to show off your legs from the front, but keep your back protected. You can take it to the extreme with the Alexander McQueen tailcoat shirt, but think more of something that looks like it has been left out to dry, with the bottom tied down with bricks. I did this amazing Sass&Bide inspired shredded tee, that had great length in the back, but was exceedingly short in the front. It was a white singlet, and it looked fantastic with black skinny jeans, a leather jacket and black Docs. I'll post a few pictures when I can find it. The Free People dress pictured is a great example of the hi-low dress. It's great for all you leggy girls out there, that I am envious of.

This season's must haves.

Miu Miu
So, I find that a must have for this season, or in general really, is a spacious, attractive satchel. Not only are they really good for carrying your school books or work folders, but they're simply to die for, for all your essentials. For example, you could carry around a map, your small makeup bag, a mirror, a book, diary, planner, pens, camera, a handheld game console, your phone, and there's still space for anything else you might need. They're very attractive for this season, and the biggest colours you see will be in brown leather, or black leather. Taking a look at the Miu Miu Woolen satchel, it proves that there's even something for all the bohemian gals out there as well, or for those who want the more 'down-to-earth' look. One of my personal favourites is the Mulberry 'Alexa' satchel, as well as the Alexander Wang 'Kirsten' satchel (You can see my post here.) If you're looking for something a bit cheaper, places like Rubi Shoes, Sports Girl and Forever New have them for about $40. If you're more of a bright person, go for something in an orange/brown leather, like that of Proenza Schouler. If you're more of a dark kind of person, think of Alexander Wang. If you want something that will always be handy, and timeless, think of Mulberry, and to keep it down-to-earth, think of Miu Miu!

Cheap cheap beach.

Black suede ruffle heel from Spend-less shoes

Okay, so Spend-less Shoes is this shoe store in Australia, that sells shoes that aren't exactly amazing quality, so if I ever find shoes that I like, I always wait a week or two till they're on special, for while some of their shoes look absolutely amazing, they're honestly crap quality. The shoes above are black suede, and I've had my eyes on them for a while. I adore the ruffle on the front, and the heel is actually quite large, but frankly, I'm waiting till they're less than $50. It's not expensive, but for the quality, I could find a pair in an op-shop for a lot cheaper, and better quality. I do really love them though. When I tried them on, I was wearing black tights and a black tulle skirt with a black singlet and a black belt around my waist, with red lipstick, and really, it all looked perfect. I cannot wait to get my hands on them. I'm quite sure Louboutin created a pair, which these shoes are based on, but either way, they're really quite amazing. They have a zip on the inner ankle, as well, in case you were wondering, and I believe they sat directly underneath the ankle.

Binge.

Right now I am on a complete binge on Alexander Wang bags. I mean, the Kirsten Satchel, then the Kirsten Tote is also amazing, but I think a 'classic' for Alexander Wang is the Rocco Duffle bag. Just looking at the snake skin leather and the studs on the bottom of the bag, it's all kind of lovely, really. When I think of Alexander Wang I think of stunning blondes with an attitude problem, who only wear black, and have the perfect pout. Alexander Wang is perfect for me, really. I adore everything, as you should all know by now. I just want it all.

Oh, Blair. You couldn't have said it better.

Ugh.

Alexander Wang 'Kirsten' Satchel in Black and Dove Grey
Dear Alexander Wang, please stop coming out with these beautiful bags, because frankly, the Kirsten Satchel is to die for. Much like my 'oh rebel' post, I find these bags are kind of an essential for the rock chick in us all. Satchels are always really handy to have, and they're totally stylin' right now, and every girl needs a bit of Alexander Wang in their life. Not only are they made out of the beloved suede, but the two brilliant colours are good to go with everything. I personally prefer the Dove Grey (left) over the black, because I'm loving grey's right now. (I bought this awesome cement coloured nailpolish the other day) I think a great combination though would be the bag in Dove Grey with black straps.

Oh, rebel.

Burberry leather spiked Biker jacket.
The punk in me is still strangely obsessed with studs, spikes, leather and...leather, and for all the street-style gals out there, or the girls who want to get a little more on their darker side, then spikes and studs are what you need. Whether it's a spiked headband, ring, pair of heels or a black leather jacket with so many spikes you'd be scared to lean against anything, to me, things like this are simply a must have, for those darker, moody days. I find the best way to wear spikes, is (TOTALLY SHOCKER HERE GUYS) with black, but it also really works with a big pop of colour, whether you go with a bright blue dress and a black spiked headband, or a pair of bright tights with a black spiked leather jacket, it's all entirely up to you, but I think to keep the moody-ness of spikes and studs, it's best to keep it all black, with dark lips and simple eyes, or extreme eyes and simple lips, this way you don't look like a goth. Yes, there is a difference between Punk and Goth. While it's not really my scene anymore, I still love the Punk look. Maybe not the Mohawks, but the leather and the studs is amazing, and really, they're the reason for black leather pants.

Tut Tut for the Fashion Spot.

According to the Fashion Spot, skirt lengths have been growing for 2011, but for me they've always been at my ankles. I adore maxi-skirts though. They're just so perfect, so wonderful and just so... amazing. I love them with tight shirts, loose shirts, crop-tops and blazers, trilby's and clogs, but they have to be high-waisted. I'm sorry, but I think anyone who wears a maxi-skirt on their hips can go die in a hole please learn something about fashion. It's just one of those things. Having something so long, and having it start at the hips is certainly going to cut you off and make you look frumpy/stumpy and and really short, even if you're tall. That's not to say that it can sit on your waist underneath a shirt, but really, I think they always need to be on your waist, and it needs to be visible. This is just my taste though. I think maxi-skirts are amazing in black or khaki, but they're two of my major current obsessions. Maxi skirts are great for summer though, but they're also amazing for winter, because they're perfect for layers. Think a black maxi skirt with black tights and clogs, with a khaki button up shirt, black gloves, a black trilby, coat and scarf. It's just all so perfect, yet for summer, think a simple singlet, a trilby and a khaki maxi skirt. It's just a look for all seasons.

I've created a new page, on what I think is the difference between Fashion and style.

Remember, guys, this is my opinion. If I get any hate for this I'm going to virtually punch them in the face. This is what I think, and therefor I cannot be wrong, because it is my opinion. You all have your opinion, and to you, your opinion is right, so leave it.

"I use Fashion as a general term for Clothes and Style, although there is quite a large difference between Fashion and Style.
Fashion is what you read in Vogue, in trash mags, and is the latest obsession. It is the runway and the mainstream items that everyone is obsessing about. It is the Lita's on your feet and the Blazer on your back. It's the maxi skirts and the crop tops that everyone adores and loves and wears and wants. I adore the Fashion world. It's the reason I live and breathe, and what I yearn to write about. The idea of Fashion is to keep the evolution of what everyone is wearing and the latest trends must change by season.
Style is what makes you, your own person. It is how you express yourself to the world, and it's your signature look. Style is what you love, taking former things you love, and adding what's in fashion. It's making your own look, it's something different from the mainstream, but still taking bits and pieces from what's 'in.' The difference between being stylish and fashionable is whether or not you can make your own look, taking personal quirks and things in fashion, and making them your own. It's creating your expression to the world, and being your own person. Not everyone has their own personal style, because some people are too reliant on the Fashion aspect, and are too scared to venture off on their own and be their own personal stylist. Style is the idea of taking a $9000 jacket and wearing it with a $2 dress. It's using whatever you can and still look amazing. It's not about the designers you do or do not own, it's not about how much money you have, or how you look as a person, it's the way you show your look and create it. Everyone can have their own style if they try.

The idea of working in the Fashion world is the idea of creating my look and sharing it with everyone."

Donkey Kong New York

I bought this beauty in an op-shop for $3. The girl that owned it didn't know it's value, I was so pleased. I absolutely love this Cashmere DKNY jumper. The sleeves are really awkward to put on, but once it is on, it's so beautiful, and so warm. I wear it with leggings and black boots, or a high-waisted dark blue pleated skirt, but I don't tuck the jumper in, because it's simply too odd.

In the leg.

These are two of my favourite pairs of trousers. They belonged to my Nana (like so many of my other things) and I absolutely adore them. They're both high-waisted. The blue pair is slightly too large, so I like to wear a thin black belt with them. I love the cut of them both, but I really love the green pair, because of how they look, and I find that they're more versatile than the blue pair, because they also go with many different shirts and hats. I, as usual, wear them with a blazer and a Trilby hat!

To clutch with all your heart.

Vintage Black Geometric Clutch by Prada
Oh, how I adore clutches. They really are an essential for every girl. Whether it's a simple fold-over, or a zip up, clutches are really just amazing. While they can be very inconvenient, as most girls know, it's always style over comfort, and sure, it gets annoying having to clutch the little bag for your life, it's still worth it, because they're small, simple, and just really bloody cute. I have this gorgeous vintage beige fold-over clutch, out of suede, and it just works with everything!

How to rock: Trilby Hats

Okay, so my love for Trilby's is immense, actually, I kind of have a massive love for all hats, but there's a special place in my heart for Trilby's. How can people NOT love them? Well, I guess if you don't have a hat face, but I do, so it's okay.

  • Please, make sure to think man-style when wearing a Trilby. Wide-legged trousers, with a high waist, not a dress or a summery frock, no. That's for bowler hats and wide-brimmed hats.
  • keep your hair down and wavy, or in a plait on one side.
  • Don't wear two plaits unless you want to look like a country-bumkin.
  • Keep it fresh with a button up shirt, that is still open at the top and a slouchy cardigan or a blazer.
  • I find that no matter what, wear a trilby with brogues/oxfords, but you can throw in a heel.
  • Keep eye-makeup simple, because going too thick, with the shadow of the hat can make your eyes look small
  • Go with a bold colour of lipstick, though, but that's the same with all hat.
  • Keep a series of bold coloured Trilby's, too, for while having a staple colour like black or brown, go for a bright red or blue for that pop of colour!
